Pamela Tucker (b. Frankfurt, Germany) is a painter based in the Hudson Valley and New York City, and Southern Connecticut. Her work is informed by her art history background and her work experience as a graphic designer. Her motifs are often the still life. The paintings display an interplay between figure and ground, objects and space as well as geometric simplification, clear demarcations of tonal shifts and color intensity. Tucker’s website has numerous examples of her interest and mastery of the still life genre. Her goal in bringing everyday scenes into abstract territory is to bring a more intense focus on the domestic experience.
