Aurélie Hug earned a degree in interior and furniture design from École Camondo in Paris. After graduating, she moved to New York and worked with interior designer Muriel Brandolini, from whom she discovered a deep passion for textiles. In 2013, she launched COMBRAY Design Studio with her sister Laure Hug, who is based in Paris, while Aurélie leads the New York studio. COMBRAY, which emerged from the sisters’ shared love for the arts of textile and interior design, specializes in custom designs of hand-embroidered motifs and textures for high-end decoration. Based in Kingston, Aurélie utilizes her background in historical decoration and traditional, textile-based craftsmanship along with her French heritage to create bespoke handmade pieces for COMBRAY‘s prestigious clients ranging from Tiffany’s and Le Crillon to Robert Couturier and Kelly Wearstler.
